Max McGar is a 19-year-old, blue-eyed, soul vocalist and pianist currently living in Pensacola, Florida. When we hear him play, it's obvious that Max has worked extremely hard perfecting the piano styles from the decades past up to the present. 

A huge Elton John and Billy Joel fan, he had to find out where they came from.  Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Little Richard and Leon Russell have all been a part of his musical upbringing.  But his playing doesn’t end with Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll, he has also studied Jazz piano and theory extensively!

Over the last year Max has spent time at Goatlips Chew and Brewhouse at the Blues jam on Wednesday nights, learning to lead a band and trying out new material. He’s also spent time at the jazz jam, working with local bands as he learned the scene and music community of Pensacola.

Max enjoys creating energy on stage through his keyboard and singing.  He serves as the full-time pianist at Upward Church in Pensacola; his faith is an integral part of his life as a player and songwriter.

Max's excitement about joining the 9-member Bay Bridge Band, with a strong horn section, is over the top!!  The band is already enjoying the fruits of his labor.  Welcome Max!
