John earned a bachelor of science degree in communications from Kennesaw State University in Georgia and worked with the IBM Company for 23 years.  He's now a full-time writer, working on a non-fiction book about an airliner accident, a fiction book on church security, and articles about his new hobby, precision-shooting sports.

John married his high-school sweetheart, Cindy, forty years after high school.  He claims to be a late bloomer.  Together they have 5 adult children and nine grandchildren.
